Tomorrow morning we are heading for Tumwater, Washington, and will spend the night at an RV park we stayed in on our way back last spring, the one that has 10 acres of Dougls Fir/salal forest that is great for the dogs to be able to run around in. The map on the right-hand side of the web page over there--> shows our planned route from here to Palm Springs, where we should be arriving on November 10th, this Thursday!!
It's good to be on our way south because the weather here in Aldergrove has been a bit on the chilly side. We're not used to the dampness, and it hit minus 4 C. yesterday morning, which felt like about minus 20! Can't wait to hit Palm Springs and that nice hot tub, LOL! We are only making one-night stopovers en route, so there may not be any more blog entries until we get there.
Meanwhile, I'll leave you with this recommendation: DQ pumpkin pie Blizzards.....oh, yeah!
Back for another winter of travelling aimlessly around the U.S. for 6 months, with no home other than our 5th-wheel trailer ("caravan" if you're from the U.K.), our Band of Gypsys is named after a Hendrix album and consists of 2 humans, 3 dogs, and 3 cats. Blowin' This Popsicle Stand
We broke camp at the ranch near Kamloops and headed south on a midnight run to Aldergrove yesterday. Today is Hallowe'en, and we've been hearing fireworks going off for about 4 hours now. The dogs don't care, it just sounds like hunters to them, a sound they are used to from living out in the bush.
We took the Canyon highway down in the dark last night, running into patches of fog, and a spot near Boston Bar where we had to wait for a flag person to let us continue on our way, past a BC Hydro heavy gang restoring a pole knocked out by a less-than-stellar driver. The wind kicked up near Yale, and the road from there to Hope was peppered with an interesting display of Big Maple leaves performing whirling dervishes across the road in front of us.
We are staying at the same RV park as we did when we came back from the States this spring. We have the best spot again, right at the back beside large trees and fields. We will be making our way across the border in a few days, on Sunday morning. So that's the first of many posts for our 2011 - 2012 trip. Keep tuned for more interesting adventures (cough)...

Aldergrove, BC
Got back into Canada about a week ago and will be staying here until early next week. Sticker shock has totally set in and it is really hard to go buy groceries because the prices are killing me! Plus there is NO good ice cream here, period. Maybe my mood will improve when the weather does. Uh, when does it stop raining here?
